Rock Nacional Thesis

Hello beautiful, crazy people who want to read my Rock Nacional paper! I wrote this senior undergraduate thesis in 2014, after living in Buenos Aires and learning about both the history of the dictatorship and the powerful music written during this time. Reading it again a decade later, I am thankful for the amazing musicians who wrote the truth of their experience in the face of government censorship and real risk. These messages still resonate with us today. I hope that this paper is a thread you can pull on, as I did, that lets you spend time with these songs — whether you’re a lifelong Charly Garcia fan, or just heard Los Dinosaurios for the first time. There are also some lyric sheets at the end in both English and Spanish for those who are curious.
